Christmas in July with Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello!

Tuesday Morning Sketches has issued a 'Christmas in July' challenge for the fourth and final week of their birthday celebrations!  How fun!  I made a card using sketch #35.  I was playing with my distress inks with this one, which are a new tool for me (I know...I am a tad behind the trends here!), and have definitely NOT mastered them...haha.  I think I have the wrong sponge piece for my applicator tool...so that means a trip to Michael's to find the correct ones (DARN!).  Here is what I came up with:

Cardstock: Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Pattern Paper: Snowy Jo Collection (Imaginisce)
Stamp: Signature Christmas (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Frayed Burlap, Fired Brick (Tim Holtz Distress Ink), Snowflake (Martha Stewart)
Ribbon: Cream (Offray)

Hope you enjoy!

1 Year Blogiversary + Guest Designer for Momo!

Holy Cow!  It has been one whole year since I began blogging away here!  This has been a fun year of discovery for me.  I have been paper crafting for about a year and a half now, and there is so much to learn, products to discover, and things to BUY!  (I love the buying part!).  I want to share some of my favourite creations over the past year, as well as some of my favourite memories!

Today I am also a guest designer for Momo's Tuesday Challenge.  This weeks theme is 'Girly Affair' and we were asked to create something super girly and feminine!  Here is what I came up with:

Favourite Scrappy Creations

Favourite Scrappy Memories
(in order of occurrence)

1) World Card Making Day - (Post 1, Post 2, Post 3, Post 4) - I participated in the Papertrey Ink card challenges and found them SO inspiring!  This was such a fun day!

2) Scrapfest U - (Post 1, Post 2) - a weekend filled with scrapping fun, including classes, cropping, make-and-takes, and PURCHASES

3) Scrapfest in Kitchener - (Post) - a second weekend filled with a two day crop, fun classes, and yes, more purchases

4) National Scrapbooking Day - (Post) - spent at Stamping Bella I had oodles of fun meeting some new scrappy ladies, scrapping up a storm, and yes, purchasing!  (there seems to be a theme here!)

5) Fave Friday with Momo - (Momo's Post) - Momo from MadebyMomo, selected my blog to be one of her faves, for her Fave Friday posts.  This was such an honour, and SO EXCITING!

6) Becoming a Queen at Paper Playtime!!! - (My Post, Paper Playtime Post) - Paper Playtime is a weekly challenge blog that was started by one of my very first bloggy friends, Janis!  Each week a Queen presents a project she made based on the theme of the week!  I have another week of Queeniness coming up next week so come back and check it out!  Can't wait!

7) Being asked to be a Guest Designer for Momo!!!! - (Momo's Post) -  This is way too exciting for me!!!!!  You can participate in her challenges every other Tuesday!  Fun, fun, FUN!

Flower Power at Paper Playtime

Hello!!!

Today is the beginning of another challenge over at Paper Playtime, and this week we have a sponsor - Digital Delights by Louby Loo!  They have some fantastic things over on their blog and store, including some super cute freebies on Fridays!  Our theme this week is 'Flower Power', and Digital Delights challenged us Queenies to use some of their images in our projects.  I have a super cute card for you today with an adorable image of a little turtle peeking out of a flower pot...love it!

I coloured the image using various Copics and a few Stampin' Up! markers.  I also added some Liquid Glass (Close to my Heart) on the flower centres and the ribbon on the pot.  Love how this turned out!

Cardstock: Plum Pudding, Lemon Tart, Stampers Select White (PTI)
Inks: Vintage Tea Dye Duo, Dark Chocolate (PTI)
Ribbon: Hawaiian Shores Satin (PTI)

Hope you enjoy!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a very exciting post!

Baby Card

I have a cute and simple baby card today!  I made this using the new Baby Tees large wheel from Stampin' Up, and coloured it with my copics (just basic colouring, nothing fancy).  The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Baby Button Bits stamp set.  It came together SO quickly!!  I just trimmed one of the extra tees that didn't fit on the front to include on the inside!

Hope you enjoy!

Swimming by to say HI!

** Edit: To make the card I used a folded piece of patterened paper, and the 'Top Note' Bigz Sizzix die from Stampin' Up!  I began cutting the paper just below the fold so that it would remain in tact and open like a card! **

Hello!

I made a quick card for this weeks challenge at Paper Playtime, which is BUBBLES!!!  I found this fish picture online, traced it off the screen (still lacking a functional printer...getting a new one SOON!) and popped her up on a few foam squares to give the card a bit more dimension!  I think it turned out quite cute!!!!

Hope you enjoy!

Birthday Card

Hello,

Just a quick post today with a sweet little birthday card that I made recently.  Hope you like it!

1) Using Dark Chocolate cardstock (Papertrey Ink), trim card base to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and fold in half.
2 ) Trim a piece of yellow/brow/cream flower print paper (K&Company Wild Saffron paper pack) to 4 1/4" x 2 3/8" and adhere to card base.
3) Trim a piece of beige polka dotted paper (K&Company Wild Saffron paper pack) to 8" x 1/2".  Make three folds to create a ruffled ribbon effect near the right side of the card.  Adhere strip to card, and trim any excess from sides.
4) Create the birthday wishes scalloped circle:

  • Stamp text background using Crumb Cake Ink (Stampin' Up!) and Background Basics Text Style stamp set (Papertrey Ink).
  • Stamp polka dot background using Crushed Curry Ink (Stampin' Up!) and Background Basics Polka dot Basics stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Stamp outline circle using Take Note stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Stamp 'birthday wishes' sentiment using Mega Mixed Messages stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Punch circle out using 1 3/4" circle punch.
  • Punch scalloped circle out of blue patterned paper (K&Company Wild Saffron paper pack) using 2" scalloped circle punch.
  • Adhere circle to scalloped circle.
  • Add pop dots to the back and adhere to card base.
  • Adhere crystal to below 'wishes' in sentiment.

Hope you have a great day!
